I peform training classes for basic computing skills (software and hardware) and teach classes in basic to mid level photography and digital photography. These classes are regularly coordinated through the American River Conservancy, but are also available on a private basis either for individuals or small groups.
Photography classes cover topics including:
- Knowing how to use your camera - what buttons do what
- Aperture - What it is and why its so important
- Shutter Speed - Limits and effects
- ISO - When to adjust it and why
- Focal Length - The use and effect of different focal lengths
- Lens optics - Basics and limitations
- Computers - Getting your photos safely saved
- The arty side - What makes a good photograph
- Numerous other specialized subjects
The classes are highly interactive, involve lots of question and answer, and are to a large degree student directed by need and ability.
